Update from Annette and Preston

California had it's draws - the beach, Disneyland, great concerts, etc... But we've found that Warren is the ultimate paradise, so feel free to come spend your vacation with us!

Our trip to Santa Fe was wonderful. We rented a car one day and hit the Plaza! We ate some delicious grilled corn, checked out the shops, and saw more turquoise than you could possibly imagine. The rest of the week we spent our time reading, laying by the pool, going for a mini-hike, sleeping in and watching TV (which reminded us why we don't own one). We also had a wonderfully delicious meal at the on site restaurant, courtesy of bob barker. Since it was free we had an appetizer, meals, desserts and delicious lime/mint/ginger lemonades! There was also a great live jazz band.

We returned home to the whirlwind of packing, cleaning and moving. The trip across the country was a little stressful due to our lack of sleep, blown tire and the intermittent rocking of the truck (which seriously was scary). Preston drove the whole way like a champ and we made it just in time to check into our new apt. on Saturday! Sunday morning in desperation we had to make a shower curtain because we didn't own one. It was a little ghetto, but it worked great.

In the past month I've accumulated some Detroit Bling, we had our stereo installed by Tiger who we met in the Walmart parking lot, we enjoyed a trip to our local Chuck E Cheese; celebrated the 4th of July at a rockin celebration thingy that had seriously horrible bands, and celebrated my b-day at Mongolian Grill where in true Sugiyama fashion I had three helpings (not because I was hungry, but to get my money's worth)!

Preston started his rotations 2 days after we arrived here (he really hates that I always insist on taking these "first day" pictures). He has another couple weeks in his Pediatrics rotation and then it's on to OB/GYN. He doesn't work on weekends and he's off by 4:30 everyday. So far, so good.

I'm taking a night sign language class and trying to finish up some BYU online classes. I wish we had more exciting things to report on, but that's about it for us. We've had some chaos the past month or so with the move and everything, but things are finally starting to settle down. So...we're ready for guests!
